"Design and prototype a lamp for a friend or family."

Target User

My sister, Dana Lee

Design Statement

Dana needs a new lamp to help her fall asleep at night but the lamp also must be aesthetically matching and appealing to her because she wants it to be part of her room decor.

Prototypes (visualisation and specification)

Sketch:

Physical Prototype:

Digital Prototype by FUSION360:

Operation of Lamp

Circuit Emulation:

STL File for 3D Printing:

Strengths:

From creating this lamp, One strength of this would be the physical prototype. I think the prototype was a good way to show physically how it would would've looked like. I also think the digital prototype was a strength and the way I used FUSION360. As this was the first time I have ever used a software like that, at first it was very hard and confusing but with some playing around and getting used to it, I slowly got the hang of it and I was able to create my thoughts into a digital prototype successfully executing my thoughts which was a strength to help and create the perfect design/lamp for my sister.

Weakness:

Along with the strengths & successes of this assignment, there were also some weakness. One of the weaknesses I think would be the circuit, I think I could've done a better job at it, however, unlike FUSION360, with the TINKERCAD software and coding, I found it more difficult and hard to say due to the fact of there was a lot of coding going on. Therefore, I would say it would be one of my weaknesses as I had a very hard time wrapping my head around it.
